Eldridge Core Values

Posted by Joe Davis on October 23rd, 2019

At Eldridge, our culture has been one of the keys to why we have been in business for 73 years.  It is also what has attracted great employees to the company and what keeps them around for a long-time.  I recently decided that it would be a good idea to articulate the Christian values that are at the core of our company culture.  Here are the five core values that reflect who we are at Eldridge:

Positivity

We believe that being positive produces the best outcome. Allowing negativity to take control only leads to a downward spiral.  We believe that being positive about our team, our work and our future is essential to success.  Phil. 4:8b “… Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.  Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Integrity

We believe we are to have integrity even when no one is watching, doing what is right and proper by our teammates, customers and vendors. Doing business in an easy to understand and simple way that promotes honesty and openness. II Cor. 8:21 ”…. for we take thought for things honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men” James 5:12 “But above all…let your yes be yes and your no be no.”

Balance

We believe in the balanced lives of our teammates. We believe that to work hard while at work, our teammates must live in a way that does not put their personal lives out of order. Taking care of those they love should always be their first priority.  We believe in putting God first, family second and work last. We also believe that we need rest to regenerate for the days ahead. Genesis 2:2a “And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done….”

Communication

We believe that good Communication is at the core of success.  The better we communicate, the better we work together as a team.  James 1:19 “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.”

Service

We believe in having a servant heart. As leaders we are to serve our employees by giving them the support needed to be successful. As employees, we serve our customers in a way that they see our desire to provide spectacular service that shows we value their business. Gal. 5:13 “…but through love serve one another.”

Conclusion

Our core values are an unwavering guide for how Eldridge teammates will conduct themselves and make business decisions.  As our business grows, they are the constant that underlie how we work and interact with teammates, vendors and customers.  By making this public statement on our core values, I hope that vendors and customers will see these values reflected in our service to them.  I also hope that if ever someone feels that we are not abiding by our core values, that they will let us know so that we can do better in the future.
