Over the years we have heard customers complain about problems with traditional weather hoods available on the market. Common problems encountered were associated with wind loads, material thicknesses and combined weight of the hood and fan. The most common complaint our customers reported was regarding water penetration during rain storms. Although we would pass these customer complaints on to hood manufactures, nothing was done to address the complaints or improve their products.

E-Hive Hood Development

In 2015 Eldridge Industrial Fan line was introduced and our team knew that we had to create a solution that addressed years of customer complaints about traditional weather hoods. Eldridge’s innovative design of the E-Hive Hood solved common problems with wind load, material thickness, weight and water penetration customers had encountered with other hoods on the market. E-Hive Hoods have a unique design that allows air to pass through the hood instead of acting like a sail in high winds up to 100 mph. Although, our standard E-Hive Hood has a higher wind load capability than most others in the market, the overall weight of our hood and fan combination is less than those of our competitors resulting in less structural reinforcement for roofs and walls. Our most innovative development and design in the E-Hive Hood was the use of plastic louvers that can withstand 6 inches of rain fall per hour with no water penetration. The most beneficial perk to our customers is they no longer need to turn off fans when it starts raining!
