TIME FOR A VENTILATION SYSTEM TUNE-UP

Posted by Josh Janecek on May 7th, 2019

The hottest summer months are just around the corner!  That means buildings with inadequate or underperforming ventilation systems can become unbearable places to work.  In these hot buildings workers can suffer from heat related stress and fatigue.  Employers will also notice the effect of heat on workers in the form of lower productivity.  So, to keep workers safe and performing at maximum productivity levels in the coming summer months, now is the time to get a ventilation system tune-up for your building.

Tune-Up Process

To get a ventilation system tuned-up and ready to handle the hot summer months, Eldridge uses a multi-step process:

  1. Determine if existing ventilation equipment is working properly.
  2. Assess whether non-working equipment can be fixed or should be replaced.
  3. Identify facility changes that could affect the ventilation system such as a building expansion or addition of new heat generating equipment.
  4. Determine the required airflow to keep the building at an ambient temperature.
  5. Identify the type and location of additional ventilation equipment needed to provide proper airflow and circulation.

Time is of the Essence

Ventilation equipment manufacturers get very busy at this time of year.  If new equipment is needed to tune-up a ventilation system then there is a short period of time to get new equipment ordered and delivered before things start to heat up.  Lead times that are usually around four weeks at other times of the year grow to six or eight weeks leading up to summer months.  In anticipation of these longer lead times right before the hot summer months, Eldridge has recently added the EPK Panel Fan to our product line-up. Eldridge can have the EPK Panel Fan shipped to you in just two weeks.  This addition to the Eldridge Fan line will help us to get your ventilation system tune-up completed before the hot summer months begin!
